Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to answer all your questions and make you feel welcome.

If you don’t see your answer below, feel free to chat to us!

I am completely new to Pilates Reformer, which class should I join?

Anyone who’s new to Pilates must join Beginner level class first to learn the basic movement of Pilates Reformer and how to safely use the equipment to avoid any potential injury.

What is the difference between Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced group class?

Beginner:

In this class, you will be introduced to the fundamental movements of Pilates Reformers. You will learn how the moving surface, aka the carriage, challenges your body’s stability and balance. We will teach you how the adjustable springs create resistance and to use that friction to activate your muscles. It is a relatively gentle yet effective class to stand straighter and taller. After a few sessions, you will start feeling intense sensations within your body.

Intermediate:

A dynamic change-up to the All Level class, the Intermediate Pilates Reformer class, is more intense. The class involves more variations of movement that are designed to challenge the endurance in your muscles and improve body coordination. With a heightened awareness of the body, you will have better dexterity. This will boost your performance in other sports activities while significantly lowering the risk of injuries.

Advanced:

Get stronger and tougher with the help of our advanced Pilates Reformer classes. Our expert instructors will guide you on how to tone your body. We will introduce you to exercises requiring endurance, strength, flexibility, and body coordination. Experiences in beginner and intermediate classes prepare your muscles for the range of motions in this class. You will feel energized with a sense of accomplishment and a hit of endorphins at the end of the class.

How do I book a class?

You may book from our O:RIN app or WhatsApp us at 852 5726 1669 to book your class.

How many people are there in each class?

Maximum of 6 people in one class.

How long is each class?

All classes at O:RIN are 55 mins.

What is the cancellation policy for group class?

You must cancel 12 hours before the class to avoid any late cancel charge, late cancel will lead to a full charge of the class.

Can I still join group class if I am pregnant?

Congratulations! Unfortunately anyone who’s pregnant can’t join our group class. Pregnancy Pilates training will be available in private one on one training.

Can I join a group class if I have an injury?

We don’t recommend anyone who has an injury to join our group classes, however if client insisted to join group class we may ask for a medical certificate from your doctor to prove you are capable for group class. Group classes involve a full body workout, so in some instances this can be quite challenging for both the injured client and the trainer.

Should I join private training after having some group classes?

If your finances allows, our recommendation is always to join private training first to learn more about your body and learn the basic fundamental technique then apply to group classes as you don’t get the full attention and correction in group class.

Do you have group classes that target specific areas of the body?

Yes we have focused workout reformer classes!

If the overall body workout is not your cup of tea, we also offer focused training targeting specific areas of your body. From flexing your arms and shoulders to toning the muscles in your thighs, our group classes are designed to give your body all that needs attention. Our focused workout class for group sessions helps to strengthen the following parts of your body, including

Hip Training

This class aims to strength your hip muscles as the hip provides strong support to our lower body that supports our day-to-day activities like walking, running standing and sitting.  Strong hip muscles can not only stabilize your pelvic but also keeps your knee in the right position. This class will provide strengthening and stretching at the same time.

Lower Body Toning

Focusing not only on the glutes but also on the hamstrings and inner thighs, the Lower Body Toning class is an all-in-one workout that challenges your balance, muscle strength, and stability.

Core Strength

Connect deeper with your core muscles and move to sculpt the abs, and the waistline all at the same time. Not only does the class give you shredded abs, but it also strengthens the trunk muscle, which is essential for a correct posture. The core exercise is also helpful in relieving back pain.

Thighs & Glutes

Fire up your thighs and glutes on a Pilates Reformer! With a wonderful mix of jumping, lunging, squatting, pulsing, and stretching, you will be able to tighten the muscles and leave the studio with a stronger lower body.

HIIT

Are you a cardio enthusiast? If yes, this class is made for you! With a wide range of cardio exercises, this class will help you burn fat and build muscles on the way. Even better, a Pilates Reformer will assist you in performing the movement better while taking away the unwanted tension for a safer and lower-impact workout.

Bootcamp

A high-intensity full-body workout that imitates the fitness boot camp style with the precision of Pilates. It is perfect for getting your heart rate up and strengthening your muscles. Expect jumping, curling, planking, lunging, pulsing – and thus your muscles trembling and your face sweating!

Jumpboard Cardio

Are you looking for a challenging yet uplifting cardio workout with a focus on core muscles? Jump board cardio class gives you a blast of energy, gets your heart rate up and forces your legs to exhaust. It is fun and energetic at the same time. Sweat will dribble down your face and you will be left shaking after the workout. To make the exercise more challenging we use a Reformer Jump board Cardio.

Stretch on Reformer

Stretching is a relatively less intense class. It calms your energy and makes you feel rejuvenated. Pilates Reformer is often used to help users to isolate and lengthen specific muscles, allowing a deeper stretch and better flexibility whilst reducing risks of injuries.

Dedicated to all the women of O:RIN ❤️
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly, and I am so lucky to have a team who goes above and beyond to do this. Even when I take time off to travel, I know that the studio is in capable hands.
You are the one holding up this studio! On International Women’s Day (and every other day too!) I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you do.
Love,
Karen x

From rendering to reality 😍
Designing each studio is a bit like giving birth to a new baby for us 😆 The process is something we deeply enjoy, from concept stage, to choosing every single pattern, tile, fabric, furniture and more.
It’s so satisfying to see it come to life and once it’s done we always feel like doing it all over again!

I tried Classical Pilates in Vancouver last month 😊
What we often practice in the studio these days is Contemporary Pilates, which incorporates modern knowledge of the body. Many exercises are influenced by physical therapy and have been modified to accommodate injury rehabilitation.
Classical Pilates stays close to Joseph Pilates’ original work. Exercises are taught in way that he developed them and in exactly the same order too.
I definitely think Classical Pilates isn’t easy to understand and follow, but it was fun to explore new things. Have you try Classical Pilates before, share your experience with us below. 🤗

Everyone comes to Pilates for the physical benefits, but they stay for the mental and emotional benefits. Try this movement for yourself and feel good in 2023 ❤️
