Alisa Choa

Alisa is a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist with diverse expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She holds a Master’s in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a program that has been accredited by IFOMPT for its high standards in manual therapy education. This specialized program elevated her clinical expertise, refining her manual skills, honing her clinical reasoning, and deepening her understanding of musculoskeletal treatment beyond the scope of her bachelor’s education. As an accredited acupuncture practitioner, Alisa completed a comprehensive postgraduate diploma course at the HKU SPACE, integrating acupuncture into her holistic approach to patient care.

Furthermore, Alisa possesses expertise in Clinical Pilates and Gyrotonic techniques, offering a dynamic dimension to her practice. Clinical Pilates, a specialized form of Pilates adapted for rehabilitation, focuses on improving posture, core strength, and flexibility while targeting specific muscle groups involved in musculoskeletal conditions. Its low-impact nature makes it ideal for post-injury or surgical rehabilitation, aiding in the restoration of functional movement patterns and preventing re-injury. Additionally, Gyrotonic exercise sequences, with their circular and spiraling movements, enhance joint mobility and stability, making them particularly beneficial for individuals with musculoskeletal issues.

Alisa’s integration of Clinical Pilates and Gyrotonic techniques empowers her to provide personalized rehabilitative programs that address the individual needs of her patients. By combining these modalities with manual therapy, she aims to optimize movement function and help patients achieve sustainable recovery, making her approach truly patient-centric and holistic.

My physiotherapist in HK – has relieved my pain and restored my movements. From not being able to tie my shoelaces without extreme pain to pain-free HIIT Training sessions.

– Andy

I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 11; since then, I have tried numerous ways and physio treatment to help with this problem. Until my doctor recommended me with body-mind exercises, I started building body awareness and understanding how we can take control of our movement. Physio treatment classes with Karie helped me with finding my core strength, building up my alignment, and alleviating stress.

– Joannie Y

Thank you to my physiotherapist  for helping me recover from the injured knee and the pain-free back that I have restored from all these private physio Hong Kong sessions with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here our physio HK specialists answer the most frequently asked questions to help you understand our physiotherapy treatment. So, let’s begin:
How do I sign up for physio HK?
A doctor referral letter is a must for each client to sign up for the physiotherapy session before the first class. Then you may fill in our Q&A form and book an appointment for your specialized physio session.
Can I claim insurance for the physio treatment?

Physiotherapy treatment provided by O:RIN Physiotherapy Hong Kong Studio is covered by insurance. We can provide you with an official receipt that has your full name for the physiotherapy treatment sessions you purchase with the signature of our registered physiotherapist Hong Kong.

* Please note that physio HK clients should confirm the details with their health insurance providers first. O:RIN Physiotherapy HK will only provide the documentation needed.

Can I join private body-mind exercise training and physiotherapy HK sessions simultaneously?

We recommend clients stick with physiotherapy sessions first, especially if they have injuries or other medical conditions that require care and attention from a fully qualified physiotherapist in Hong Kong.

But if you grow more fond and interested in body-mind exercises (I know, we all do) and the physiotherapist’s schedule doesn’t allow it, we can also arrange a professional body-mind exercise instructor for you. Of course, O:RIN Physiotherapy HK works collaboratively as a team: the physiotherapist HK and the assigned instructor will communicate thoroughly and ensure the physio exercises are complementary.

How about Group Reformer Class? Can I join it while receiving physio treatment?

O:RIN Physiotherapy HK does not recommend clients with injuries or other medical issues to join Group Class. If your finances allow, we will always suggest you stick with the physiotherapy treatment as your physiotherapist is most familiar with your body condition. The Group Class instructor might not be able to personalize the class for you.

If you insist on joining Group Class and present a medical certificate proving your physical capability to attend the class, you may also book for it at O:RIN. We also recommend you consult our physiotherapist or other professional healthcare providers.

How much are the physiotherapy treatment sessions?

O:RIN’s private physiotherapy trial fee is $1000, 55mins long. After having your first physiotherapy session, you may consider our physio treatment deals at different rates. For more information, you may request the price list at O:RIN studio or message O:RIN Physiotherapy HK through WhatsApp.

What kind of problems can Physiotherapy help to solve?

What's the difference between the physio-led Pilates/ GYROTONIC® class and the ordinary body-mind exercise classes

Medical and Health Expertise

Physiotherapists in Hong Kong are experts in anatomy, movement, and injury management. These areas of physio knowledge allow the physiotherapist HK to modify, adjust and choose the safest and the best physio or body-mind exercises for an individual. In our Physio-led body-mind exercise classes, our physiotherapist offers expertise as a medical and health professional.

Catering to unique physique and specific injuries

Specific body-mind exercises are great for improving muscle strength and flexibility. However, although instructors of non-physio HK private classes are aware of the medical history of clients, they are not as specialized as a trained physiotherapist HK to look into details of one’s injuries and specific medical needs. This is where our physio treatment stands out from the rest.

Safety

A physically active and healthy person with no injuries or medical conditions can enjoy and benefit from a typical non-physio body-mind exercise class. Yet, individuals that are injured and have not exercised in a while might be more injury-prone. It is thus safer and highly recommended for these clients to attend our physiotherapy class with the full attention of a physiotherapist in Hong Kong.

Our physiotherapists avoid certain exercises for a person, for instance, with back pain due to a slipped disc, while not restraining all movements in the area to foster recovery during physio in Hong Kong. A qualified physiotherapist is thus crucial to ensure clients’ safety and achieve maximum results.

Why choose O:RIN for physiotherapy?

When it comes to physio treatments, O:RIN does not believe in shortcuts to bring temporary transformation or Band-Aid solutions; instead, our physio focuses on the symptoms to treat the issue or injury. On one hand, we utilize physiotherapy in HK to relieve pain and stiffness. On the other hand, our physiotherapist incorporates body-mind exercises into physiotherapy treatments to give you a more balanced muscular body, preparing you to experience relief from injury. This type of physio in Hong Kong not only allows you to target the discomfort now, but it is a long-term relief and prevention to other health issues you might be facing.

O:RIN's unique approach to physiotherapy in hong kong

At O:RIN Physiotherapy Hong Kong, we believe in restoring energy and mobility for clients to move their bodies freely during physio treatment. Together with the fundamental principles of an array of body-mind exercises, our physiotherapist with multidisciplinary knowledge provides you with body assessment, diagnosis, manual physio HK therapy, and health education as well.

You might be shocked to learn how closely body-mind exercises and physiotherapy are related. It’s natural to put your fitness on hold as you recover from an accident and focus on putting your body back in functioning order through normal physio. However, body-mind exercises are more than simply a great workout regimen; many physiotherapy programs include comparable movements, and body-mind workouts can be a great way to start your rehabilitation during physio in Hong Kong. Clinical body-mind exercise instructors are common among physiotherapists, and they make many of the activities that aid in physiotherapy rehabilitation more accessible.

A variety of therapeutic methods are implemented by our physiotherapist HK. In her physio Hong Kong sessions, is designed to allow full range of motion and stability. While Pilates stabilizes your muscle, GYROTONIC® mobilizes your spine and joints three-dimensionally, spiraling away from the pain.
