Pilates Physiotherapy at O:RIN is conducted by our registered Physiotherapist, Karie. If you are recovering from a surgery or struggling from an injury, but not seeing results from traditional physical therapy, Pilates, Gyrotonic and Manual Therapy for rehabilitation is a great way to help your body back on track from the injury without the pains of physical therapy.
Expertise from a Health Professional
Physiotherapists are experts in anatomy, movement and injury management, these extent of knowledge allows physiotherapist to modify, adjust and choose the right and safe exercise for an individual.
Catering to Injuries Bodies
Pilates are great ways to improve strength and flexibility. However, non-physio private class cannot consider an individual’s injuries, medical history, and specific needs to the same level of detail as a trained Physiotherapist can.
A fit and healthy person with no injuries or medical conditions that exercises regularly can benefit and enjoy a typical Pilates/Gyrotonic class but an individual with medical conditions or injuries hasn’t exercised in a while will be safer in a Physiotherapy based class.
For example, for a person with back pain due to a slip disc, there are certain exercises that a Physiotherapist would avoid. A Physiotherapist has a thorough understanding of which exercises to avoid ensuring safety.
People come for physio for many different reasons! From scoliosis, back pain, slip disc, sciatica, pre-natal and post-natal, injury rehabilitation to name a few!
All Pilates Physiotherapy sessions must have obtained a doctor referral letter. Then fill in our Q&A and book an appointment!
