Sustainability

O:RIN is not only your true partner on your journey to physical health and fitness it can also be your first place to adopt activities that contribute towards the sustainability of the environment. Visit our studio to reap the maximum benefits today.

Going green and being responsible for the environment is the prime responsibility of every business and individual. O:RIN believes corporate sustainability is not only limited to business growth through smart decisions, but it also concerns being a responsible stakeholder in society. This includes becoming more environmentally friendly as one of the members of the global village.

O:RIN has initiated to contribute its small parts towards this blessed purpose. Along with our efforts, we invite our visitors also to be a part of this brighter, greener, and more sustainable future. We are highly motivated to learn and improve along the way.

So, be a part of this revolutionary transition and contribute to the betterment of our mother nature.

Importance of being more eco-friendly

All human activities have a direct impact on the environment. Therefore, we strive to make this impact positive and focus on preserving our environment. From reducing the use of plastic to effective recycling mechanisms, these small steps can drastically impact the environment in the long run.

Our contribution towards the environment

Filtered water fountain: We have a filtered water fountain at the studio. Plus, we strongly encourage clients to bring their bottles (#BYOB).

Recycling Bins installed: We have installed recycling bins at the studio.  We welcome clients to rinse the recyclables at the pantry to follow the recycling system in Hong Kong.

Bamboo Wipes and Tissue papers: Biodegradable wipes are the primary reason for sewer blockages and mass water and ocean pollution. Therefore, we have swapped all our disposable wipes to biodegradable wipes made of bamboo. To maintain an extremely hygienic environment in our studio, we use bamboo tissue papers to clean all the surfaces while limiting our waste.

Why bamboo only?

Naturally Renewable

Bamboo is a fast-growing plant that is naturally renewable. The plant can be grown without much maintenance and requires very little water to grow. Plus, you do not have to worry about any pesticides or herbicides for this tree-like grass.

Absorbs Carbon Dioxide

One of the most significant environmental benefits of bamboo is it’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide and product oxygen. Compared to an equivalent tree mass, bamboo produces 35% more oxygen, and research has shown that bamboo can absorb as much as 12 tonnes of carbon dioxide per hectare per year.

Grows Quickly

The bamboo tree grows very quickly in as little as 1 to 3 years whereas other trees take up to 30 to 50 years to grow. This can help save the rainforest, water, and wildlife and can make a real impact on reversing climate change.

Less Carbon Footprint

Produced in Sichuan China and shipped to Hong Kong, these bamboo-made products are of less carbon footprint than those made of virgin wood fibers.

Dedicated to all the women of O:RIN ❤️
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly, and I am so lucky to have a team who goes above and beyond to do this. Even when I take time off to travel, I know that the studio is in capable hands.
You are the one holding up this studio! On International Women’s Day (and every other day too!) I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you do.
Love,
Karen x

From rendering to reality 😍
Designing each studio is a bit like giving birth to a new baby for us 😆 The process is something we deeply enjoy, from concept stage, to choosing every single pattern, tile, fabric, furniture and more.
It’s so satisfying to see it come to life and once it’s done we always feel like doing it all over again!

I tried Classical Pilates in Vancouver last month 😊
What we often practice in the studio these days is Contemporary Pilates, which incorporates modern knowledge of the body. Many exercises are influenced by physical therapy and have been modified to accommodate injury rehabilitation.
Classical Pilates stays close to Joseph Pilates’ original work. Exercises are taught in way that he developed them and in exactly the same order too.
I definitely think Classical Pilates isn’t easy to understand and follow, but it was fun to explore new things. Have you try Classical Pilates before, share your experience with us below. 🤗

“You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.” - Joseph Pilates

Everyone comes to Pilates for the physical benefits, but they stay for the mental and emotional benefits. Try this movement for yourself and feel good in 2023 ❤️
